VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION DOCKET NO. 50/395 OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-12 NRC 8ULLETIN 88-08 SUPPLEMENT 3 NRC Bulletin 88-08 Supplement 3 provided information on thermal stratification caused by hot fluid leakage out of the Reactor Coolant System into unisolable piping.
South Carolina Electric & Gas Company's evaluation
'of the conditions outlinad in Supplement 3 indicated that only portions of the Residual Heat Removal System (RHR) could be affected and that nondestructive examination was piudent for specific pcrtions of the system.
During the f all 1991 refueling autage, ultrasonic testing was performed on critical locations on the RHR lines (shown on Figures 1 and 2) in accordance with the recommendations of NRC Bulletin 88-08 Supplement 2.
The results revealed no recordabic indications of flaws.
RHR line critical' locations will be included in SCE&G's overall program to address the issues identified in NRC Bulletin 88-08.
