The purpose of this letter is to provide y'ou with notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6,0. la within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.

At 1200 hours0.0139 days <br />0.333 hours <br />0.00198 weeks <br />4.566e-4 months <br /> on Septen.ber 29, 1974, with Unit One running at 610 cnd Uni t Two at 306 l4Ve, 1/2 diesel generator failed to start due to both air valves being closed at the receiver outlet. The dicscl generator was started immediately upon the opening of both air valves and a monthly operability test conducted satisfactory. Diesel generators I and 2 air system was checked and found to be in proper condition. "S" locks will be provided for all three diesel generator's air receiver outlet valves and shut-off valve to the air start notor.

This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Feierebend of your of fice on Sept. 30, 1974 Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence licport A0 50-254/74-31 which wi11 be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
