The purpose of this letter is to provide you with notificaticn of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6.B.l.a within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.
While pulling rods for startup of Unit 1 on December 16, 1974 r
the RWH computer failed and did not annunciate.
This failure l
of the RWM occurred during startup below 10% power and allowed the operator to withdraw an out-of-sequence rod without a rod block or alarm.
This move occurred 5 rods after the RWM failure.

The rod sequence error was recoEnized by visual observation of the rod position display panel.
The out-of-sequence rod i
was returned to its in-sequence position and the RWM was re-turned to operation.
This error was corrected within 2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br />.
