Dear Mr. Keppler:

The purpose of this letter is to rir<ide you with notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technicai "pccification 6.6.B.l.a. within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.

With Unit 2 in the cold shutdown condition for the current refueling outage, A loop feedwater check valves were leak rate tested. Both feedwater check valves, 220-58A and 220-62A, were determined to have excessive leakage.

In accordance with our previous reportinit agreement of April 4, 1974, this notification also fulfills the ten day reporting requirement of Technical Specification 6.6.8.1.A. Details of repairs necessary to correct these de-ficiencies will be reported at a later date when the work is complete.

This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Felerabend of your office on January 27, 1975 Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occur-rence Report A0 50-265/75-6.
