Dear Mr. Keppler:
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6.B.I.a within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the e -- -raara At 8:45 a.m. on April 6,1975 upon attempting to start I A Residual Heat Removal i
System service water pump, the pump tripped.
The control switch was placed in the pull-to-lock position and the pump and motor were inspected.
Evidence of smoke was found in the vicinity of the motor.
A work request (No. 1639-75) was issued to repair the pump and surveillance was begun on the remaining components of the system in accordance with Technical Specification 4.5.B.2.
This cccurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Feierabend of your office on May 6, 1975 Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Report A0 50-254/75-11 which will be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
