Dear Mr. Keppler:
The purpose of this letter is to provide you wi th notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as requi red by Technical Specification 6.6.D. I.a wi thin 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.
At 1:30 a.m. on June 28, 1975, during monthly surveillance testing of the pressure suppression chamber to reactor building vacuum breakers, valves 2-1601-20A and 2-1601-20B f ailed to open f rota the control room. The problem was improper operation of the solenoid valves which allow air to open the valves.
The maintenance foreman was contacted by the shi f t engineer, and the valves were repai red and retested satisfactorily by approximately 4:00 a.m. that same morning.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. liunnicutt of your office on June 28, 1975 Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Report A0 50-265/75-21 which will be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
