The purpose of this letter is to provide you with notification of an Abeorma'!
Occurrence as required ny Technical Specification 6.6.B.I.a within.24 Fours of the occurrence.
At 9: 15AM on July 21, 1975, with lanit 1 operating at 675 HW, Traversing incore Probe (TIP) number 3 ball valve. failed to close uoan compleElon of the TIP trace.
Tiie key for the souib valve was immediately given to the Unit 1 coerato:- for use in,frolating the r.ystem.If the need arose.
The Shift Foreman then went to t he TIP cubicle.and tapped the valve, causing it to close at 10:30Am.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. r lerabend of your office on e
July 22, 1975 Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Roport A0 50-254/75-17 which will be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
