Dear Mr. Keppler:
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6.B.I.a within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.
On October 18, 1975, with Unit Two in the' cold shutdown condition, smoke from a small fire created by onsite contracted welders, fouled the Standby Cas Treat-ment "B" train particulate filters sufficiently to produce a differential pressure across the filters slightly in excess of the Tec,hnical Specification Ilmit of 5.7 inches of water.
The "A" train was immediately tested and found operational, and a work request was issued to change the "B" train filters.
During a conversation with the NRC Regional Office on October 20, 1975, it was decided to classify this event as an Abnormal Occurrence.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Feierabend of yotir office on October 20, 1975 Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Report A0 50-265/75-42 which will be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
