Dear Mr. Keppler:
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with notification of an Abnormal decurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6.B.l.a within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.
At 9: 00 pm on July 29, 1975, during flow rate nurveillance tesuing of the Residual Heat Removal (RHR) System Service Water Pumps,i pump 2A failed to meet the Technical Specification / required flow rate of 3500 GPM at 198 PSIG.
The maximum flow rate obtained was 2850 GPM at 19 8 PSIG.
Work request 2794-75 was immediately issued for in-vestigation and repair.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Knop of your office on July 30, 1975.
Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Report A0 50-265/75-28 which will be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
