Dear Mr. Keppler:
The purpose of this letter is to. provide you with notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6.B.1.a, within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.
During operation of No. 3 Tip machine, the ball valve would not close upon tip withdrawal.
Instrument mechanics
' immediately went to the valve, tapped the solenoid lightly, and the valve operated satisfactorily.
All ball valves will be cleaned and inspected to assure proper working condition.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Feierabend of your office on July 25, 1974.
Further information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Report AO 50-254/74-26 which will be submitted within 10 days of the date of this occurrence.
