Dear Mr. Denton:
In a letter dated January 23, 1983, South Carolina Electric and Gas Conpany (SCEEG) transmitted to the NRC a proposal to rerack the existing spent fuel pool at the Virgil C. Sumer Nuclear Station. A Licensing Report which described the proposed reracking effort was subnitted for review as an attachnent to the January 23, 1983 letter.
In response to Staff questions concerning this Report, 01 apter 5 has been revised to nere clearly identify basic assunptions used for heat load calculations and to delete certain exanples of possible spent fuel pool loadings. 'Ihe chapter now states the assunptions used for these calculations and provides some of the specific nunbers used for the analyses. Aca3rdingly, SCE&G herewith forwards ten (10) copies of Revision 1 to the Licensing Report for Spent Fuel Pool Reracking. Please note that all the changes subnitted in Revision 1 are contained in Chapter 5.
