n ENCLOSURE BELLEFONTE NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 DRAWING DISCREPANCY FOR INCORE MONITOR TANK SLEEVES BLRD-50-439/83-25 i
NCR 2317 SECOND INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency The unit 2 Reactor Building Incore Monitor tank sleeves, for incore piping, (El 639.01 Mark 1 and 2 sleeves) are 18'-2-3/4" and 1'-9-1/2" from the center line of the reactor building. On the unit 1 plan view, the i'
dimensions are 18'-2-3/4" and 2'-3-1/2".
As a result, the unit 2 sleeves in the incore tank are installed 6" west of their intended location.
Interim Progress The nonconformance has been referred to the Division of Engineering Design with a recommended disposition to use the tank sleeves in their present configurations.
Babcock and Wilcox was notitied of this condition and was asked to review the "use-as-is" disposition as it deviates from their acceptance criteria. Babcock and Wilcox recommended that TVA install the sleeves in the correct location.
TVA would prefer the "use-as-is" solution and has purchased " dummies" which, upon delivery, will be inserted in each unit and the insertion and withdrawal forces monitored. TVA will submit the test results to Babcock and Wilcox for their review and approval.
