Dear Mr. Denton:
The Board of Directors of Carolina Power & Light Company approved today the cancellation of Unit 2 of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant.
In our opinion, the cancellation will not significantly change safety or environmental analyses although certain structural niodifications of the sort required as a result of cancellation of Units 3 and 4 will be necessary. We are prepared to discuss this matter with your staff at their convenience.
