PROMPT NOTIFICATION - HVH COOLER LEAK
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In accordance with Plat t Techcical Specification 6.9.2.a.3, the following event is reported.
At 1125 hours0.013 days <br />0.313 hours <br />0.00186 weeks <br />4.280625e-4 months <br /> on July 4, 1983, a service water leak was discovered on Containment Fan Cooler HVH-2.
This event is considered a degradation of a containment boundary pursuant to IE Bulletin 80-24 and is reported as such. The service water to and from the cooler was isolated, reestablishing containment integrity, and HVH-2 was declared inoperable at 1136 hours0.0131 days <br />0.316 hours <br />0.00188 weeks <br />4.32248e-4 months <br />.
In achordance with Technical Specification 3.3.2.2.a, operability testing of the Containment Spray pumps was completed at 1251 hours0.0145 days <br />0.348 hours <br />0.00207 weeks <br />4.760055e-4 months <br />.
This event was reported on July 5, 1983, to the NRC, Region II and the office of Mr. B. J. Furr, Vice' President, Nuclear Operations Department, Carolina Power and Light Company.
