Dear Mr. Wakild:
As required by the Brunswick NPDES permit, notification is hereby provided concerning operational difficultie.1 for Unit No. 2 with the requirement that at least two cooling water pump bays be equipped with fine mesh screens. One cooling water pump bay has been without screens beginning on February 21 at 7:51 p.m. du6 to repair work to a damaged bearing on the 2D pump screen and subsequent problems with starting the pump.
Unit No. 2 will begin an outage on March 10, 1984.
Cooling water pump motors will be replaced and any other necessary repairs will be made at this time.
