FIRST INTERIM REPORT s
Description of Deficiency TVA purchased welded rear brackets from ITT Grinnell, Providence, Rhode Island for use in seismic category I piping systems snubber assemblies at Bellefonte. Welded rear brackets on ITT Grinnell figure 306 and 307 snubbers produced and shipped before April 1980 may produce an interference with the snubber restricting the pivot movement to less than the + 5 degrees listed in ITT Grinnell's load capacity data sheets.
Interim Progress TVA will perform a review to determine if any snubbers with welded rear brackets are deficient. TVA is working with the vendor, ITT Grinnell, in determining procedures for corrective action to be taken l
if deficiencies exist.
