Final Report'for a Problem Concerning the Partition Walls Forming the Control Room' and Computer Room Description of the Problem The drywall partition walls forming the control room and computer room inside the control building were not designed for seismic loads.

There are some safety-related components located in the vicinity of these walls.

Analysis of Safety Implications Since the drywall partitions were not designed for seismic loads, their

integrity could not be assured during a seismic event.

The effect of the failure of these partitions on the safety-related components in their vicinity would depend on the extent and nature of such a failure.

A detailed analysis of safety implications has not been performed.

However, to eliminate the possibility of failure of the partitions, the corrective action outlined below has been-taken.

1 '

Corrective Action The drywall' partitions have been redesigned to withstand seismic loads.
