Dear Mr. Denton:
South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) requests a revision to the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Technical Specifications, Table 3.8-1, " Containment Penetration Conductor Protective Device Test Setpoint Criteria," providing for the addition of the breakers as shown en Attachment I which were inadvertently omitted from the Technical Specifications.
These breakers provide the primary and backup penetration protection to the Reactor Building Sump Isolation Valves located in separate mini-containments outside the Reactor Building that function as extensions of containment.
SCE&G has determined that a f.inding of no significant hazards consideration is appropriate in trat additional requirements are being added to the Technical Specifications.
These breakers have been subjected to the same examination and testing program as other breakers identified in Table 3.8-1.
This change has been reviewed and approved by our Plant Safety Review Committee (PSRC) and the Nuclear Safety Review Committee (NSRC).
A check in the amount of Four Thousand Dollars
($4000.00) is enclosed for processing this change.
