Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In a letter dated November 4, 1983, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) responded to the Notice of Violation addressed in Appendix A of NRC Inspection Report 83-27.
In that letter, SCE&G committed to establish additional procedural controls to correct the inadequacies in the drawing control program as cited in Item B of the Notice of Violation by January 1, 1984.
These procedures have been written and are presently undergoing internal review by SCE&G.
Issuance of these procedures has been delayed by a recent plant outage and organizational changes which shifted certain responsibilities which impacted the drawing control program.
A great deal of interface has been required within SCE&G to perfect these procedures.
Procedure finalization is expected to proceed expeditiously, and SCE&G currently projects that the final procedures will be issued no later than January 31, 1984.
