RE: Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 Monthly Operating Data Report Attached are two (2) copies of the October, 1983 Monthly Operating Report for Joseph M.
Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit 1, required by Section 6.9.1.10 of the Appendix A Technical Specifications. As requested by letter from Mr. John F. Stolz to Mr. Alan R. Barton, dated October 21, 1977, a
" Narrative Summary of Operating Experience" is included in the attached report.
Also attached are revised pages for the January through June,1983 Monthly Operating Reports which reflect the proper Event Numbers that were previously reported incorrectly.

JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
OF OPERATIONS OCTOBER, 1983 During the month of October, there were two (2) unit shutdowns.
On October 13, 1983 a manual shutdown was initiated for repair of the turbine gland exhaust condenser.
An automatic shutdown occurred on October 16, 1983.
The following safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of October:
1.
Performed miscellaneous maintenance on diesel generators.
2.
Removed waste evaporator condensate tank manway cover.
3.
Overhauled #9 river water pump.
4.
Replaced numerous waste evaporator filters.
5.
Repaired refueling water purification pump.
