Dear Mr. Denton:
In accordance with the schedule outlined in our letter of October 18, 1983, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) hereby submits five (5) copies of the Draft Report entitled, " Seismic Confirmatory Program - Equipment Margin Study."
We understand that the draft report, in conjunction with the NRC Audit being conducted at Gilbert Associates on this date, will be used by the Staff in their evaluation of the satisfactory completion of our Seismic Confirmatory Program.
SCE&G has essentially completed the equipment margin studies required by both ACRS and ASLB License Condition 2.C(25), and to date has discovered no problems in equipment design.
We are therefore confident this program will show that the ACRS and ASLB. criteria do not affect shutdown and residual heat removal equipment and that no equipment modifications are required.
We will submit our Final Report to you as soon as possible, but no later than November 16, 1983.
SCE&G considers that this submittal, with concurrence by the NRC Staff by that date, satisfies both the ACRS Commitment and ASLB License Condition 2.C(25) with no further actions required.
