Dear Mr. Vassallo:

Subject:

" Heavy Loads" Response to NRC Request The purpose of this letter is to respond to a request from the NRC for additional information as conveyed to the District in a telecon on September 1,1983. Specifically, this request asked for information concerning heavy loads and was made in order to allow first phase review completion of the District's initial heavy loads submittal. The District has determined that all special lifting devices have been overload tested to at least 125 percent.

In addition, the dryer / separator plug strongback was modified to upgrade it during the past outage and was retested to at least 125 percent.

If you have any questions concerning this issue, please contact me at my office.

Sincerely, M

Jay M. Pilant Technical Staff Manager Nuclear Power Group JMP/gme:emzi6/10 0
