3-MONTH.Y OPERATIONS REFORT MAY 1983 At the beginning of _ the report period, the OC Station ilas shutdown for the 1983 Refueling / Maintenance Outage.
'The reactor vessel was drained to facilitate inspection and repair of the reactor recirculation valves, Appendix J Modifications, and primary system valve maintenance.-
The annual Plant Emergency Drill was completed on May 24, 1983.
The TBCCW System new surge tank tie-in modification was completed and turned over to the Operations Department.
Both Trunnion. Room Main Steam Isolation Valves (MSIV) were repacked.
On May 31, 1983,-MSIV NSO4A failed its local leak rate test.
At the end of the report period, plans were developed to adjust the packing gland and retest NSO4A in conjunction with NSO48.
The following items were considered noteworthy:
1.
The Standby Gas Treatment System was returned to an operable status on May 14, 1983.
2.
On May-16, 1983, various plant equipment trips were experienced due to. a ' lightning strike on the 34.5 KV Distribution Lines.
Consequently, the fuel pool filter had to be pre-coated due to loss of flow in the system caused by the lightning disnption.
