Section 7.3.2.10 of the Catawba Safety Evaluation Report discusses G>nfir story Item 28, Containment Pressure Control System, and requests confirmation of the separation applied to this installation.
Separation of each channel associated with the Containment Pressure Control
- System (CPCS) has been implemented at the Catawba Nuclear Station to assure that a failure in one channel cannot affect another channel. This applies to both trains of sensors. As described in FSAR Section 7.3.2.2.3 each channel of CPCS is separated from sensor to actuation device per the criteria listed in FSAR Section 8.3.1.4.5.
This separation provides the means by which termina-tion of the Containment Spray System (NS) and the Containment Air Return Fan System (VX) is assured in order to prevent pressures in containment below 0.25 psig.
