Telephone No.:

(914) 526-5235 Indian Point Unit No. 2 operated at or near full power throughout the entire month of April.

Condenser fouling resulting in fourteen separate 10 MWe deratings when various circulators, were removed from service to permit diver inspections and condenser cleaning.

On four occasions during the report period, controlled plant shutdowns were initiated in accordance with the requirements of the facility Technical Specifications.

Two occasions were on Friday, April 22 as a result of inoperable containment isolation valves.

The shutdowns were terminated the same day at approximately 88% reactor power when appropriate repairs were made.

The plant operated at approximately full power until April 27 when a shutdown was initiated due to inoperable containment spray pumps.

The shutdown was terminated at approximately 46% power the same day when one pump's emergency diesel supply was returned to service.

The plant was returned to full power.

However, repair work on the second pump was not completed within the allowed 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
time period and a shutdown was initiated on April 28.

That shutdown was terminated the same day at approximately 66%

power when a license amendment was granted extending the allowable out of service time by an additional 48 hours5.555556e-4 days
0.0133 hours
7.936508e-5 weeks
1.8264e-5 months
.
