The purpose of this letter is to provide a modificatinn to ope rat i r.-
License Change Request No. 176, dated April 19, 1991.
That request proposed a
change to the overpressure protection system (OPpS) setpoint from 350 psig to 444 psig.
Attached is a
modification to reduce the OPPS setpoint by 4 psig to 440 psig based on the results of WCAP-12966 (Duquesne Light Company, Beavor Valley Power Station Units 1 & 2, 20 Percent Steam Generator Tube Plugging Analysis
- Program, Engineering and Licensing Report).
.This modification has been discussed with our NRC Project Manager and is provided to document the change to the proposed Technical Specification amendment.
The previously submitted Attachment B
(Safety Analysis and No Significant Hazard Evaluation) remains applicable for this nodification.
This submittal provides a more conservative setpoint in accordance with WCAP-12966 which was reviewed and approved by the Onsite Safety Committee (OSC, and Offsite Review Committee (ORC).
