Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Operating License No. NPF-12 Seismic Confirmatory Program
Dear Mr. Denton:
On February 1, 1983, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) submitted a Seismic Confirmatory Program report to document the results obtained during the experimental phase of our program to satisfy Licensing Condition 2.C(25).
The report contains two appendices, one by ERTEC, Inc. and one by URS/ John A. Blume and Associates, labeled Appendix A & B, respectively.
Because of a technical question involving assumptions used in the Blume section of the report (Appendix B), URS/ John A.
Blume and Associates is developing an addendum to the report.
The target date for submittal of the Blume addendum is March 7, 1983.
In light of the time constraints within the License Condition, SCE&G requests a meeting with the Staff to discuss the results of our experimental program, as well as the question raised, on March 10, 1983.
We also request that you review our submittals on this issue expeditiously and provide a written response to us after your evaluation is completed.
