7590-01 uni 7t }TATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION 00CKE.* NOS. 50-325 AND 50-324 CAROLINA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Cmanission) has issued Amendment Nos. 49 and 74 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-71 and DPR-62 issued to Carolina Power & Light Company (the lic'ensee) which revised the licenses for operation of the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, 011ts 1 and 2

(the facility), located in Br<nswick County, North Carolina. The amendments are effective as of July 1,1982.
The amendments change the licenses to permit continued operation until such time as certain surveillances can be performed; but, in any event, no later than July 15, 1982.
The application for anendnents complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atonic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Canmission's rules and regulations. The Cannission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendments.
Prior public notice Cf..ase amendents was not required since the amendments do l
not involve a signi /icant hazards consideration.
i The Concission has determined that tho issuance of these snendments will not result in any cignificant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement, or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amendments.
