Dear Sir:

As requested by Mr. K. Eccleston of your Staff in telephone discussions dated December 23, 1982 and January 5,1983, we have revised page 210, Pilgrim Station Organization to include the functions of responsibility for each group.

As noted in the discussions, Technical Specification Section 6.3,. Facility Staff Qualifications, (page 210), already contains requirements for individuals per-forming these functions.

Also, Section 6.5. A.5 Records (page 213) has been changed to require that copies of ORC meeting minutes be forwarded to the Vice President - Nuclear Operations.

These changes are depicted in Attachment A and replace in kind the pages in the referenced submittal.

Please be advised that the functional responsibility of ALARA has not been designated under any one specific group. Instead, it is Boston Edison Company's (BECo) policy to ensure that individual and collective internal and external occupational radiation exposures (rem) to personnel are maintained as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) through the implementation of a BECo ALARA Program. The overall responsibility for the BECo ALARA Program lies with the Senior Vice President - Nuclear. Specific responsibility for the development and maintenance of the BECo program lies with the Vice President, Nuclear Operations. In turn all managers and supervisors are responsible for their portions of the program.
