SUBJECT:
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 SEP Topic No. III-2, Wind and Tornado Loadings Your letter dated November 18, 1981 transmitted seven (7) questions concerning Wind and Tornado Loadings. Similar questions were raised in your final evalution of SEP topic III-2 dated September 1,1982. The attached report provides our response to the questions.
In addition to the response provided in the report, we are currently evaluting the ef feet of a tornado on the turbine building. As indicated in our letter dated November 16, 1982, we plan to transmit the results of the evaluation by June 30, 1983.
Although not included in the report, our recent evaluation indicates that the diesel generator housing can withstand tornado loading of up to 300 mph and 2 psi depressurization.
