, INSERVICE TEST (IST) PROGRAM ISI-P-008 Revision 6 Summary of Changes Pages 1-3 and Relief Request PR-5 vas withdrawn. The use of 3-5 autoscaling vibration monitoring equipment for measuring pump vibration levels was revieved and approved in ASHE Code Case N472. The conclusions of the ASHE Code Caso vere approved for use as documented in NRC Regulatory Guide 1.147, Revision 8, November 1990. Therefore, the previously submitted Relief Request vas no longer required for program implementation.
Page 4.25 The valve numbers for the containment spray additive tank vacuum breakers were changed from U4-128 and U4-129 to PSE-8988 and PSE-8989. These changes do not modify the testing requirements for these valves and is considered editorial in nature.
Page 4-30 Valve !!V-3548 is a motor-operated gl Se valve and as such does not have a fail-safe actuator and does not ch'ngs position on loss of actuator power. Fall-safe tes a c is not applicable to this valve and as such the requ:. cement was deleted. This change is considered editorial in nature, t
's Pages 4-35, Cold Shutdown Justification CS-17 was withdrawn. The 4.36,'and testing frequency for the Main Steam pover-operated 6-17 relief valves (valve numbers PV-3000, PV-3010, PV-3020, and PV-3030) has been changed from cold chutdown to quarterly. These volves can be isolated by closing manual isolation valves to facilitate full-stroke testing during.pover operation. Since quarterly testing of the above mentioned valves vill be added in this revision, Relief Reques! llR-2 no longer applies.
Pages 4-45, The main feedvater regulating valves (valve numbers 4-45a, and FV-0510, FV-0520, FV-0530, and FV-0540) and the 6-40 bypass feedvater regulating valves (valve numbers LV-5242, LV-5243, LV-5244, and LV-5245) in th Condensate and Feedvater System have been added to the Inservice Test Program. Ongoing reviews of safety analyses have revealed that in order to assure main feedvater termination, redundant isolation capability is assumed to be provided by the main feedvater 001334 1 of :

Revision 6 Summ ry of Changss (Cont'd)
IO isi,/E Pages 4-41 isolation valves in combination with the main and 4-45a, and bypass feedvater regulating valves. Vithout this 6 redundant isolation, a single failure could cause (cont'd) unisolable feedvater flow, which is not a condition bounded by the safety analyses as documented in the Vogtle Final Safety Analysis Report. Therefore, closure of the main and bypass feedvater regulating valves in conjunction with closure of the main feedvater isolation valves is required. The main feedvater isolation valves are already in_the Inservice Test Program.
The-bypass feedvater regulating valves vill be tested quarterly. However, as discussed 1.i Cold Shutdovn Justification ~CS-40 which is addei by this revision, the main ferdvater regulating valves cannot be full-stroke tested during normal operation and as such they will be-tested on a cold shutdown frequency.
Note ~ Refer to Cold Shutdown Justification CS-20 in the current program for a discussion of the main feedvater isolation valves. 4 Page_4-54, A design change h?.s been implemented in the plant
(~ '/'r Dvgs. ISI-D-226- which removes the internals of check valves U4-186 and ISI-D-227 and U4-187. Therefore, these valves are being deleted from the testing requirements of ASME Section XI.

x 1.5 DEFINITIONS Terms belov, when used i'i the Inservice Testing Program, are defined as follows:
Quarterly: An inttrval of 92 days for testing components which ran be tested iuring normal plant operation.
Cold shutdovn Testing scheduled for cold shutdown vill commence no Inter than 48 hours5.555556e-4 days <br />0.0133 hours <br />7.936508e-5 weeks <br />1.8264e-5 months <br /> after entering cold shutdown. Testing vill continue until all tests are complete or the plant is ready to return to pover. Completion of all testing is not a pretequisite to return to pover. Testing not completed at one cold shutdovn vill be performed during subsequent cold shutdowns that may occur before the refueling outage. In case of frequent cold shutdowns, valve t.esting vill not be performed more often than once every 3 months. The 48-hour interval need not hold for planned cold shutdowns when their duration is of sufficient time to accomplish all shutdovn testing.
f- s Refueling: Testing scheduled for refueling vill be performed during the normal scheduled refueling shutdowns before returning to
() power operation.

, VALVE (S):
CATEGORY:- B CLASS: 3 1 FUNCTION:- These valves regulate feedwater flow and close to stop flow if a feedwater line ruptures.
- QUARTERLY TEST REQUIREMENT
- Exercise, time, and fail COLD SHUTDOWN
-TEST JUSTIFICATION: Exercising these valves during normal operation isolates primary normal feedwater flow te the steam generators. Isolation of the primary normal feedwater flow would cause a steam generator
. 'rsistent and could cause a plant shutdown.
