Miller, NRC, regarding Alternate Safety-Shutdown capability analysis Clinton Power Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-461 Safe Shutdown Analysis for Fire Protection Transmitted herewith is the Illinois Power Company updated document, " Safe Shutdown Analysis for Fire Protection."

This revised report supersedes the document previously provided for NRC Staff review, and referred to in the referenced letter.

Also included is additional information on the Clinton fire protection system and request for some exemptions to Sections III.G and III.J, Appendix R of 10CFR Part 50.

This material was requested by Messts. N.E. Fioravante, huxiliary Systems Branch and J.

F.

Stang, Jr., Chemical Engineering Branch, respectively, at the Clinton site meeting on July 13 and during subsequent telephone conversations.

Under separate transmittal, we are forwarding directly to Mr. H. Abelson for staff use a set of the electrical installation, cable tray and cable tray routing drawings for fire zones A.2.1, D.2.1, D.3.2, D.3.6 and F.3.1.
