SEVENTH INTERIM REPORT The subject deficiency was initially reported to NRC-0IE Inspector M. Thomas on January 6,1981, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e) as NCR BLN BLP 8015. This was followed by our interim reports dated February 5, May 6, August 18, and November 17, 1981 and March 19 and-July 29, 1982. Enclosed is our seventh interim report. SEVENTH INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency The following 20" valves are identified as Seismic Category I (active) by design criteria documents. They were inadvertently specified and purchased as Seismic Category I(L) (i.e., limited seismic requirements).

Interim Progress Atwood and Morrill has submitted to TVA the seismic and stress report for qualification of the swing check valves to Seismi'c Category I (active) requirements. TVA has reviewed and approved this report.
Borg-War.ner has submitted a qualification report on the hydraulic operators for the gate valves. TVA has reviewed the qualification report and returned the report to Borg-Warner requesting clarification on certain items in the report. TVA vill review the revised qualification report when it is submitted by Borg-Warner.
