The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Coanission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 5 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-11, issued to j
Comraonwealth Edison Company, which revised the license for operation of the La Salle County Station, Unit No.1 (the facility) located in Brookfield Township, La Salle County, Illinois. The Amendment is effective as of August 13, 1982.
1 The Amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications. The 4
changes to the Technical Specifications were as follows:
(1) de<nonstrate the RCIC system is operable at least every 18 months, by verifying, using the test
}
flow path, that the system is capable of delivering a flow greater than or i
equal to 600 gpm to the reactor vessel when steam ts supplied to the turbine at a pressure of 150 + 15 psig, and (2) allow the use of initial startup test data for determining equivalent flows in the RCIC test line and vessel injection I
line.
}
The application for amendment complies with the standards and require-l

ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comnission's rules and regulations. The Commission's rules and regulations j
in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amen <hent.
Prior public notice of tnis Amendment was not required since the Amendment does t
l not involve a significa.it hazards consideration.

[7590-01] The Comnission has determined that the issuance of this Amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 5ection Sl.5(d)(4) an invironnental impact statement, or negative declaration and environmental inpact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of this Anendment.
For further details with' respect to this action, see (1) the application for amendment dated August 11, 1982, (2) HP.C letter dated August 16, 1982, (3) Amendment No. S to License HPF-ll dated August 27, 1982, and (4) NRC letter dated August 27, 1982.
