This is to confirm our telephone report utilizing the Emer-gency Notification System at 1954 hours0.0226 days <br />0.543 hours <br />0.00323 weeks <br />7.43497e-4 months <br /> on September 10, 1982, and subsequent notification made at 2010 hours0.0233 days <br />0.558 hours <br />0.00332 weeks <br />7.64805e-4 months <br /> to your onsite inspector, Mr.
N.E.
Du Bry.
At 2003 hours0.0232 days <br />0.556 hours <br />0.00331 weeks <br />7.621415e-4 months <br /> a followup call was made informing the Duty Officer that the event previously reported should have been classified an unusual event during the time period of 1900 to 1946 hours0.0225 days <br />0.541 hours <br />0.00322 weeks <br />7.40453e-4 months <br />.
The purpose of this call was to inform the Nuclear Regulatory commission that the required surveillance testing following the installation of a Design Change on the 2 Control Room pressurization fans for Unit 1 of the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant had not been performed.
This made the fans inoperable per the requirements of Technical Specification Section 3/4.7.5.1.
Discovery of this situation was made at 1900 hours0.022 days <br />0.528 hours <br />0.00314 weeks <br />7.2295e-4 months <br /> on Sep-tember 10, 1982.
The Reactor Coolant System had entered Mode 4 at 0516 on September 10, 1982.
The Control Room Pressurization System was available for service with the fan control switches in automatic.
Upon discovery, the pres-surization fans were immediately retested utilizing approved plant procedures.
The first fan was declared operable at 1946 hours0.0225 days <br />0.541 hours <br />0.00322 weeks <br />7.40453e-4 months <br /> and the second fan was declared operable at 2008 hours0.0232 days <br />0.558 hours <br />0.00332 weeks <br />7.64044e-4 months <br />.
During the conduct of this test no problems were encountered.
As required by Technical Specification Section 6.9.1.8, a followup report providing a complete explanation of the oho $$0h5 PDR SEP 1 e ggg; V M
