Subject:

McGuiro Nuclear Station Docket Numbers 50-369 and -370 Catawba Nuclear Station Docket Numbers 50-413 and -414 Revised Proprietary Designation of BAW-10173 (TACS 73769/73770/73771/73772)

By letter dated March 20, 1989, Duke Power Company submitted the subject Topical Report as a proprietary document.

On January 30, 1991, various telecons between NRC, Duke, and B&W Fuel Company resulted in a redesignation of the proprietary information contained in the Topical Report and related correspondence. Therefore, the attached material is provided to properly identify the proprietary information related to the-subject Topical Report. The proprietary information is in three parts: indicates all of the information contained in BAW-10173, through Revision 2, which is proprietary; the remainder of the Topical Report may be considered non-proprietary. 1 identifies proprietary information from a June 7, 1990 response to a requent for additional information. The remainder of that submittal may be considered non-proprietary. 11 contains a revised Table 5-1 of BAW-10173. As is the case with the original table in the Topical Report, the entire

" Selection" column is considered proprietary.

Appropriately designated proprietary and non-proprietary versions of the Topical Report will be issued following receipt of the Safety Evaluation Report.

If there are any questions, please call Scott Gewehr at (704) 373-7581.

Very truly yours,
