NUCLEAR PROJECT 3 AMENDMENT #1 TO THE FSAR Pursuant to 10CFR2.101(a) and in accordance with the guidance contained in Generic Letter 82-14, the Washington Public Power Supply System (Supply System) is filing herewith sixty (60) copies of Amendment #1 to the FSAR for Nuclear Project 3 (WNP-3).

This amendment contains the init.ial phase of the WNP-3 Review for Con-formance with the Standard Review Plan (SRP) NUREG 0800, as required by 10CFR50.34 (g).

At the time this rulemaking was promulgated, the WNP-3 Application was 3 dol in the final publication process end it was not feasible to include 5

this information in the tendered dccuments. Discussions with the NRC

Licensing Branch indicated the acceptability of presenting the required f/ @

information in phases. The first phase in this amendment #1, provides statements of conformance with each SRP acceptance criteria for the WNP-3 design.

d Where differences exist between the WNP-3 design criteria and the ac-ceptance criteria identified in the SRP, a schedule has, in most cases been provided. This schedule shows when the bases will be presented for concluding that the WNP-3 design criteria are in compliance with the Commission's Regulations.

Additionally, this Amendment contains information intended to update the design description and correct typographical errors. Should you require further information or clarification, the Supply System point of contact for this action is the WNP-3 Licensing Project Manager, Mr. K. W. Cook (206/482-4428).
