Confirmation of Action - Brunswick 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-324 and 50-325 This refers to my telephone conversations on July 16 and 19, 1982, with Mr Lynn Eury, Senior Vice President, and other meribers of your stat f concerning trecial measures you will accomplish as a result of your findings regarding your tailure to identify and perform several surveillance test requirements specifica n your f acility Technical Specifications.

This also refers to the meeting in ti,n ot t ice with Mr. E. Utley, Executive Vice President and me on July 20,194 a: wnich the e matters were also discussed.

This review will also deternine it testing required by the Technical Specifications has been comp!eted and that adequate steps have teen taken, including audits to assure the natisfactory completion of future tests.

Conduct extensivu training of operating and 5taf f personnel as discussed in the ref erenced conversations.

4 Prcside a full ti;ne, operationally qualified, corporate representative on-sate.

This inoividual will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Power Supply Group.

Establish a special Corporate Panel to review the adequacy and completeness of actions taken in response to this letter.

This p6rel will review the ections at an on-site n;eeting which will be attended by NRC personnel.

Longer term corrective actions to be completed by CP&L, to preclude recurrence of this type of event, will evolve from further evaluations of the pertinent issues and will be the subject of an appropria NRC order. We understand that you plan to discuss with this office, by July 1982, your plans for long term correc-tive actions.
