APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION GPU Nuclear Corporation Docket No. 50-219 Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station License No. DPR-16 As a result of the inspection conducted on June 2,1982 through July 5,1982, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C),
47 FR 9987 (March 9,1982), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 3.6.B.(2), requires that radioactive liquid effluents being released to the discharge canal be continuously monitored.
Contrary to the above, from June 12, 1982 to June 14,1982, about 300 gallons of water with a total activity of 70.5 millicuries was released to the discharge canal via the stonn sewer system and was not continuously monitored.
This is a Severity Level IV Violation (Supplement I).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, GPU Nuclear Corporation is hereby required to submit to this office, within 30 days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including (1) corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending your response time.
