Island Huclear Generating Plant under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.59. The analytical acthods in this topical report are applicable to Unit 1 (Cycle 7.)
and Unit 2 (Cyclef7) since each core loading contains 40 TOPROD fuel assemblies mixed with the standard EXXON assenblics. Other analytical methods that you i
are referencing in your reload analysis for TOPROD fuel assemblics appear in i

report XN-UF-00-56(p). dealing with thernal margins, since we had not conpleted our evaluation. However, since that time our evaluation of topical report XM-NF-00-5G(p) supplement No. 1 & XR-NF-D2-21(p) has progressed to a point sufficient for us to conclude that the thermal margins for Unit No. 1 (Cycle
- 7) and Unit No. 2 (Cycle 7) are adequate to compensate for uncertainties i
related to the analytical nethods employed by the EXX0H Uuclear. Company.
Thereforeaes. conclude that the operation in Cycle 7 at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant finits 1 and 2 is acceptable with respect.to the thermal margins for core loadings containing a nixture of TOPROD and EXX00 standard fuel assemblies.
