Dear Mr. Burkhardt:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Performance Indicator Program provides eight performance indicators for use by NRC senior managers to monitor trends in the overall performance of individual nuclear power plants. These indicators provide an additional view of operational performance to supplement that obtained through other NRC programs. The purpose of this letter is to transmit to you the NRC performance indicators for Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 for the first quarter of 1990. I have also included Announcement No. 200 on the u' e of performance indicators s
and the definitions of the indicators, which are contained in each issue of the report.
You will routinely be sent a copy of future quarterly performance indicators for the Nine Mile Point units.
