This refers to the special inspection conducted by Messrs. D. G. Wiedeman and R. Glinski of this office on December 7,1993, of your facilities formerly 3
occupied by Diamond Alkali Company, located at the T. R. Evans Research l
Center, Auburn Road, Painesville, Ohio. Licensed activities were previously authorized by Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) Special Nuclear Material License No. SNM-832 and Source Material License No. SMB-260. The results of our preliminary survey findings were discussed with you and your staff at the-conclusion of the inspection on December 7,1993.
J The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. The inspection consisted of a selective examination of
-l representative records from the former license file, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with the current owners and occupants of the buildings.
Based upon this inspection, we have concluded that the facilities (buildings) located at the above referenced address were decontaminated to a residual radiation level consistent with current NRC guidelines.
Consequently we have no further questions regarding this matter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosure to this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning the inspection.
