NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-298/93-27
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. L. Pellet of this office and
.
other personnel identified in the enclosed report from November 29 to
December 10, 1993. The inspection included an assessment of the
qualifications of individuals who are licensed to operate your Cooper Nuclear
Station facility and the licensed operator requalification or continuing
training program and followup of selected previously identified open
inspection items and violations. At the conclusion of the inspection,
findings of significance were discussed with those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed report.

Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within
these occas, the inspection consisted of evaluation of the licensed operator
requalif' cation training program by evaluation of the comprehensive written
and operating examinations submitted for review and of licensed individuals by
the use of comprehensive written and operating examinations jointly
administered in accordance with NUREG-1021, " Operator Licensing Examiner
Standards," Revision 7.
The results of this inspection are documented on.
pages 1 and 2, in the enclosed report.
Based on these results, all but one of the licensees evaluated demonstrated
adequate competency and all examinees have been informed of their individual
results by letter.
Further, based on these results and the corresponding.
observations during the joint administration, the Cooper Nuclear Station
facility licensed operator requalification training program is evaluated as
satisfactory in accordance with NUREG-1021, " Operator Licensing Examiner
Standards," Revision 7.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy
of this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room.
