This refers to your letter dated June 4, 1982, in response to our letter dated February 9, 1982, ( S.

R. Kemig, NRC), in which you requested that we specify a time limit for the update of the Fuel Location History I
Sheets which are addressed in Administrative Procedure A-44 " Fuel and Special Nuclear Material Accounting Directives".
Administrative Procedure A-44 will be revised to specify that the fuel location history sheets be updated within 3 months after the Unit returns to full power following any refueling l
outage.
We wish to point out, however, that the form in question, Fuel Location History Sheet, serves the purpose of a history, not as an identifier.
Pertinent actions regarding fuel i
bundles are based upon positive identification using imprinted serial numbers rather than location within the pool.
