This refers to your letter dated July 7,1982 in request for further guidance to adequately prepare for the scheduled October 27, 1982 small scale exercise.
As discussed during a telephone conversation between Mr. Volza of your staff and Ms. Mojta of this office on July 19, 1982, we provide the following information.
Annual exercises that are intended to satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR 50 Appendi:: E must be submitted for approval, and in accordance with time lines referenced in the October 26, 1981 letter from Region I to Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation.
Presently, the NRC does not plan to participate as players in the October exercise, but will provide a routine-size NRC observation team (approximately eight members).
