3. Reaualification Program Observations lhe NRC reviewed the licensee's proposed written examination prior to administration. The following weaknesses were identified by the NRC and are being provided for evaluation by the licensee via their SAT based training program. No response is required.

One question was deleted because it was a " direct look-up."

" Direct look-up" questions are not appropriate for open reference examinations. This question was replaced with an appropriate question from the licensee's examination bank.

• One question was deleted because it was considered as

" double jeopardy" with another question. This question was replaced with an appropriate question from the licensee's examination bank.

• Three questions were deleted because they were repeated from the examination that the operator had previously failed and no modifications or changes had been made to the questions.

These questions were replaced with questions from the licensee's examination bank.

4. Exit Meetina An exit meeting with licensee representatives was held on September 14, 1993, to discuss the requalification program observations discussed in Section 3 of this report. Licensee representatives in attendance are listed in Section 2 of this report.
