Operating License No. DPR-16 Docket No. 50-219 Generic Letter 89-10, " Motor-0perated Valves" Response to Request for Additional Information GPUN letter to NRC (C321-93-2009), dated June 28, 1993, provided information related to operator actions taken during a postulated LOCA on the Isolation Condenser System.
Based on subsequent discussions with the NRC, the OCNGS licensed operator training program is being updated to identify that the Isolation Condenser System (ICS) condensate return line motor-operated isolation valves are sized to close based on the maximum differential pressure across the valve resulting from upstream reactor coolant system pressure decay over the 35 second isolation signal delay time. This training update will be implemented in November,1993, and provides operator clarification regarding the design basis capability of these valves.
