This letter is being submitted in accordance with the Umerick Generating Station l
(LGS) Units 1 and 2, Environmental Protecton Plan (EPP) Section 3.2, which stipulates that the NRC will be notified within 30 days following the date of approval of a change to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permt By a letter dated April 22,1993, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources (PA DER) gave us approval to use the chemical Nusyn-Noxfish, in the LGS emergency spray pond to control fish population. In accordance with LGS EPP Section 3.2, the letter from the PA DER granting approval is attached.
The NRC had been previously notified that we were requesting this change to the LGS NPDES permit in our letter dated March 22,1993.

Re: Aquatic Vegetation Control Permit Gentlemen:
Enclosed is your permit for the application of fish control chemicals in Limerick Generating Station Emergency Spray Pond located in Limerick Township, Montgomery County. You must follow the directions on the manufacturer's label and use extreme caution when using or applying these chemicals. 'It is your responsibility to conduct the treatment operations in an environmentally safe manner. This bureau's review was only to determine if your proposed application would impact or affect a public water supply.
Note the PA Fish and Boat Commission's reporting requirements located on Page 2 i
of your permit.
Water treated with chemical herbicides should not be used for human consumption, irrigation or livestock watering for the period of time specified on the manufacturer's label. This time period will vary with the chemical used.
Some herbicides also require restricted recreational uses (swirmling and fishing) for time periods specified on the label. When these chemicals are used in areas open to the public, you are responsible for assuring that proper controls are implemented in the treated areas. You are also responsible for any damages incurred by the chemicals used and subject to penalties under the Clean Streams Law, the Pennsylvania Safe Drinking Water Act, and/or Pennsylvania Fish Laws.
