Safety System Functional Inspection (SSFI) at Vermont Yankee This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Mr. J. Pelletier of your staff and Mr. J. Durr of my staff, on July 3,1990, announcing the Safety System Functional Inspection to be conducted at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Station during the weeks August 6 and 17,1990. The SSFI will focus on the design, operation, maintenance, and configuration of components in the Core Spray and RHR portion.of the:Se nice Water Systems. The NRC inspection team Will initiate preparation and system document reviews at the NRC Region I office on July 23, 1990. We request that Vermont Yankee Power Corporation provide the highlighted background information,' listed in Enclosure 1, on these systems at the NRC regional office no later than July 20, 1990 or at the earliest possible date.
