~ This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. T. J. Madeda

of this office on June 4 - July 11, 1990, of activities at the Monticello

Nuclear Generating Station authorized by NRC Operating License No. DPR-22,

and to the discussion of our findings with you and other members of your

staff at the conclusion of the onsite inspection, as well as a telephone

briefing-of Mr. G. Hudson on July 12, 1990, regarding changes to the

categorization of one' of our findings.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection.; Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

No violations of NRC Requirements were identified during the course of this
